A rural hotel in the heart of Tabarca Island
La Trancada is an 18th century building, former fishermen’s house. Located three miles from Santa Pola and twelve from Alicante where the tiny island of Tabarca, the only populated in the Valencian Community, emerges from the Mediterranean.
We offer the visitor as an ideal refuge to escape the stress of the city and immerse themselves in the blue of the Mediterranean.
Spending a few days in La Trancada is to step away from the world, take off your watch and let your gaze fly through its crystal clear waters
The island
By setting foot on the island you already start to notice a different feeling, the aroma of the sea, the air and the sun are intertwined to create an atmosphere that makes you feel happy.
Historical wealth
The first sites date from the Romans and since then many civilizations have populated the island, do not leave without discovering its secrets.
Marine Reserve
It is the first marine reserve in Spain, since 1986. In order to preserve the fauna and flora of the area, consisting of many typical Tabarca species, such as birds and fish.
Tabarquina gastronomy
The taste of the sea can not miss on your visit to the island, taste the typical tabarca cauldron or any rice in our two family restaurants, Amparin and Gloria.
Relax
There is little sensation there is like staying on an island when all visitors abandon it with their boats. Stroll through a cove, watch the sunset and relax.

We arrived several before the set check in time and were able to enter the room without any glue. The service was delicious. Always nice. The room was adorned with petals and lighted candles. And everything was in perfect condition. Also noteworthy breakfast, delicious everything.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. to come back!!!
I went in August with my daughter to snorkel around the island, and booked two nights. The room was very good, and the quality of service excellent, always at our disposal with a smile. The breakfast, well, the location is good (it can not be otherwise on an island 500 meters wide. Perfect.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We let our luggage there until we were provided with the key and the day of departure as well. He personally prepared breakfast for us all table by table with all dedication. This year’s room, much more spacious, renovated, with fridge, large TV and terrace.

We have two family restaurants where you can taste the typical dishes of the island, contact us to make a reservation or order.
Bars & cafes
In the summer season there are several businesses where you can have a drink or a coffee, but during the winter the island is practically uninhabited.
Art & Culture
The tabarca museum, located in the old warehouse of the almadraba contributes to know the remarkable Tabarchian heritage, both natural and cultural, and by extension that of its people, who have had at sea their main ally to survive.
The almadraba was formerly the economic engine of the island thanks to the fishing of tuna.
How to get there
The island is connected by regular catamaran and taxi-boat lines from Alicante and Santapola, with seasonal services from Torrevieja and Benidorm.
Booking conditions
One night of the hotel will be charged at the time of booking. Cancellations are accepted free of charge up to fifteen days before the date of entry, after this period the rate is non-refundable.
Conditions
- Pets are not allowed.
- Children of all ages can be accommodated. All children under 12 years are charged EUR 10 per night for extra beds.
- Any additional older children or adults are charged EUR 20 per night for extra beds.
- The maximum number of extra beds in a room is 2.
- Please note that extra beds and/or baby cots are available upon request and must be confirmed by the property.
- Supplements are not calculated automatically in the total cost and must be paid separately during your stay.
- High season from 15 June to 15 September, holidays and weekends.
